It's not just a tailgate...

For most college students tailgating attire means rocking a t-shirt from the campus bookstore. Luckily, this is not the case for SMU students. Just as we have perfected turning our Dedman gym sessions and 8 a.m. classes into fashionable events, SMU’s tailgates (or as we like to call them Boulevards) run in a stylish league of their own.

This past Saturday SMU students and alumni gathered together to turn the main stretch of campus into something more of a runway than a college tailgate. With a “red out” theme guiding the impeccable outfit choices of our stylish football fans, students jumped from white tent to white tent in ensembles as hot as the scorching Texas heat.

In sync with recent fall trends we saw lots of playful patterns, crop tops, stacked arm parties, and cross body bags. Guys and girls alike completed their outfits with oversized sunglasses skillfully hiding their overheating faces (freshmen take note – going to the Boulevard without your sunglasses will ensure loads of regret when looking through Flash photographs the following week…)

See you at the next Boulevard!

xoxo,
pearls & spikes
